hello asked:
I know that anyone with any hint of an eating disorder should receive treatment from a therapist, but at what point does it become necessary to be sent somewhere (away?) where they can heal completely??

When you’ve stopped being able to think straight.
If you faint.
When you get down past 70 pounds, and aren’t short or built really small.
When they have gone to therapy but just can’t stop what it is that they are doing OR when they have a problem but cannot admit it and they refuse to stop
oka first of all i dont think you should go on an eating disorder. You should be happy with your body god made you tht way for a reason. and when you think you are about to go into a disorder then is when you need to get some help.
Rehabilitation units are very useful in giving around the clock care and attention by specialists in the specific area of eating disorders, and of course it can take time, depending on the individual. CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) helps as well as group and one to one sessions.
Only you will know if the situation is so dire that you need this level of help.
I pray you get healed!
