Can an alcoholic "just stop"? Can a drug addict "just stop"? If it were that easy, there wouldn't be as many alcoholics, drug addicts or people with eating disorders. Bulimia is not a physical disease, such as Parkinson's Disease, it is a mental illness and physiological disorders are diseases.

it is classified as a disease because it's an infection of the mind. someone feels like they must throw up in order to feel satisfied.. it's all in the brain.

Willpower isn't the problem. No, without help, people cannot help themselves. It's like depression, or many other diseases.
