How can I stop binge eating?
I eat good during the day. I eat healthy and drink lots of water.
But after work in the evening, I binge. I do it without even thinking. It’s like I literally cannot stop myself. I eat because I am bored. Or sometimes because of stress. I am never satisfied.
I am overweight of course. Not too bad though. I need to lose about 25 lbs to be at a healthy weight. But I am afraid of getting bigger.
Please dont tell me to get professional help. I cannot afford that. Already tried.

You have to get away from the food and do something else. Go to bed early if you have to but dont binge before you go to bed.
find another hobby to do instead of eating or binging.
you could get some good books and read them.

Go to: h t t p : / / c h o o s e d i e t . b l o g s p o t . c o m (you should type it in the usual manner) and select one, possibly changing, later. Eat 6 – 8 small meals, daily, with a little protein in each, preceded 20 minutes earlier with a large glass of water: this speeds up weight loss. Snack on any amount of celery sticks, with the occasional carrot stick, and/or slices of cucumber, tomato, bell pepper/capsicum, or raw onion, in any vinegar (a little salt & pepper/chilli powder is OK, but no oil, or sugar! Rinse your mouth with water, later, if using vinegar. Your body needs a small amount of [ preferably olive, or premium coconut* ] oil, daily, to be healthy: about 2 teaspoonsful, if not getting it in the rest of your food intake already). Understand and accept that many people use food in an attempt to fill an emotional void, which is unhealthy, and never works. Others eat out of boredom, so have plenty of things to keep you occupied. Sometimes I use or DIETING: See and and and EATING DISORDERS:… and… and and and… and and… and Call EDAP on (USA) 1-800-931-2237. Also view hypnotism for weight loss (if fairly suggestible) at on page 60. Put: “nutritional type” in the taskbar, at * and enter: find out what yours is, and build an eating plan around it for the future: include considerable variety, so that you never get bored with it.
keep your mind thinking in something else instead food try mental games, when you eat be alert to know when you got enough food, eat to live no the other way, live to eat
I do the same thing. I eat normally in the daytime but stuff my face in the evening. I think it’s because I find my work more satisfying than my home life at the moment.
I think part of the difficulty is knowing why you do it. I mean, aside from the boredom and the stress. Why do you *eat* instead of doing something else when you feel that way?
I eat because I want to do something physical (so reading a book or doing puzzles wouldn’t be a suitable alternative for me). I often think I should do something physically healthy instead of physically unhealthy. If I want to do something physical, maybe I could go for a walk or do some other kind of exercise, or even have sex.
Would something like that work for you?
I’m trying to make those changes, but binge eating is a difficult habit to break.
Good luck!
