Well, yesterday I was “forced” to eat more than I can afford on my diet, so after I made myself throw up. But it was miserable. On the plus side, it made me lose my appetite for hours. But I don’t understand how that can develop into an addiction. I seriously could stop and never do it again.

Because you think, only this time. But you start saying that all the time. And you can get so skinny because you want that perfect body image. I dont understand it myself because I’ve never tried to loose weight (I’m only a teenager) but it can happen to everyone. So please dont do it again..
because, its not necessarily the whole vomiting part that’s addictive. You feel liberated and free from guilt of eating more than you intended to after your done. Its that feeling that becomes addicting. Sure there are a random few who actually enjoy the act of purging but its the reason why your doing it and how you feel afterward that’s addictive.
You should really be careful. You assume now, as youve only done it once, that you could never do it again. But your thinking is all wrong already. You ate over your “limit” felt bad and decided throwing it up would be an appropriate solution to “fix” this. And it seemed to you that, despite being disgusting, it worked relatively well the one time. So whats to say down the road when your feeling youve been forced or happen to or whatever above what you’d liked to have eaten that you wont give it another go. Just one more time. Its not a big deal I only do it once or twice a year…. a month… a week. Wam bam bulimia.
That is how it works. Its usually a slow and progressive disorder. People try it then they try it again. For the purpose its achieving not the act of how they are doing it. And once that options on the table , sort of like have one cigarette every once in a great while versus being a smoker, the only difference is quantity and its quite easy over a long period of time to realize your doing it more and more often. Until eventually you feel bad if you don’t, you feel like you have to.
Well it’s a really bad thing to get into as it ruins your life’ your stomach ‘ teeth and kidneys and usually your heart as it goes thru so much throwing up and it takes a toll. Many people like you say i could quit just like that and it is not easy and have to get into a treatment facility and everything about the old you.I hope to God that you will quit ; before it started to mess up your organs and your throat as you cannot get them back’ once they;re destroyed from purging always..Good luck and please get help..O.K.
After a while it starts to cause psychological damage, especially if it’s kept secret. People don’t usually become alcoholics after the first drink of their life either, but if there’s a propensity for it and genetics, he’s going to become an alcoholic in time.
The fact that you did it once is a good sign you could do it again. Most people wouldn’t think of ever doing such a thing, what a waste, they might say.
But I understand because I got locked into it when I was only 12, but there was a history of physical, emotional and sexual abuse by then. BTW most bulimics maintain average body weight.
“Involvement of the opioid system may explain the addictive quality of this behavioral disorder,” said Angela Guarda, M.D
This study explains how they came to that conclusion.
when u eat **** then u become bulimic, see, it that easy. Now go vomit
