Anorexia is not eating at all or eating tooooooo little. Bulimia is binging-purging either by throwing up or by exercising too much. Both are not advisable and are harmful to one’s health.
Both anorexia and bulimia are mental health problems (the physical symptoms are a result not the cause) and are related to other forms of self harm. For most people who become anorexic it sort of creeps up on you over time, often related to low self esteem and a mistaken belief that if you lose weight you’ll look better and become more popular. Unfortunately, losing weight this way tends to lead to very poor body tone (and you don’t have the energy to exercise even if you wanted to) which is the opposite of the effect sufferers are after. But rather than realize that what they’ve been doing is counter productive, the poor body tone makes sufferers redouble their efforts. It’s not uncommon for sufferers to get more extreme as they lose more weight – more lost weight, worse body tone, answer lose more weight (not)!

Anorexics lose more weight because they take in little to no calories but bulimics binge/purge. They throw up the food they eat and the reason they dont lose as much weight is because you can never know if all the food eaten is gone and also some of the calories from the food they eat is absorbed. With anorexics hardly no food is eaten therefore no calories are absorbed making it easier to lose weight.
