It might not be a disorder, but it is far from healthy. Tell someone!! Or talk with your friend fast. Not healthy at all.
Might just be a call for attention rather than a disorder, but whatever the case is, it’s not a good idea. Unless she’s fasting for, say, religious reasons, it would be a good idea to let her parents know if you could.
13 or 14 days without food and water, then you die. Not a good idea to do. Your body has to have fuel to survive. You have to eat to lose weight the right way. Don’t do anything stupid. Talk to a doctor or dietician.
It may not be a clinical case or a named disorder, but any time that you do not eat when presented with food, when you are hungry, then you, technically, have an eating disorder.
What I would suggest is informing yourself on eating healthy and then go to her with it. Did you know that when you don’t eat your metabolism grinds to a halt? Therefore, when you DO eat something, your body does not metabolize that food, but stores it as fat. I would suggest to her to, instead, look into ways to increase her metabolism. This includes eating high-protein foods more often during the day (so like 5-6 small high-protein meals) instead of 2 or 3 bigger meals.
You’ll never lose weight, long term, by starving yourself.
Not a good idea, plus if you stop eating and then start it adds a lot of calories. Not very long 2-9 days, but then you’d die.
