I’m trying to break the habit of binge eating. I read that the best way to break a habit is to replace it with a new one.

I’m already re-vamping my routine to escape food when it gets to the time I would binge. But what can I do everytime I find myself reaching for cereal/chocolate/toast?
I am yet to find anything effective! Please help!

Go outside and sweep the driveway, the walk. Take a good long walk down the street. Do anything that gets you away from the kitchen.
I binged for a time. What I did was keep an eye on what I ate and stop when I felt full or not hungry. When I’m about to grab something to eat but I really dont need to then I would stop, and go out of the room to find something else to do to keep my mind off of the food. Usually thats games or walking, sometimes even cleaning
chew gum instead
chew gum…. good gum.
Find the healthiest replacement of food possible while you are trying to break you habit. and eat a variety, too much of anything is not good for your health.
Focus on your health You need to know that sugar, junk food, and fast food are not your friends when it come to being fit (You know being fit means you will be at your ideal weight). You may want to consider eating more natural fruits in vegetables in your daily diet and remove or reduce wheat, dairy, and sugar. Eat fresh food not processed food (food in boxes, restaurants, etc.) is always better. Drink water, green or ginger tea 30 minutes before or after each meal. These things will get you on your way to being healthier which will translate into a smaller and more vibrant you. Look at in the kitchen section on why you should stay away from wheat (gluten), MSG and other foods that causes obesity and hypertension.
When eating, take your time and chew your food 2 to 3 times longer than you’re accustom to. This will aid in digestion. Add fiber and organic choices to your diet. All the growth hormones, MSG, preservatives, gluten, and artificial flavoring may lead to weight gain.
Get active in planned activities, walk or jog, go out dancing, play sports, or just do what you enjoy a lot and incorporate exercise with a group of friends. This will help you stay away from foods give you more enjoyment.
My field is in fashion, as a result many people ask me how they can slim down. My answer is always the same: good diet and exercise. But I found this great product which I think helps a lot in the process. I recommend you check this website , they have a free trial and you only pay 5.49$ shipping and handling. Good luck!
You should try walking or running, something healthy.
Or maybe if you find yourself inevitably in the kitchen you could try drinking glasses of water instead. After about 24 oz, you won’t want to eat!
just like what everyone else said….go out for long walks….clean….what i usually do if i find myself reaching for a snack is i go and draw it really takes my mind off it and usually i find that i’m doing it for hours and don’t realise it as the time flies!….just whatever you enjoy the most….thats what you do…..(and that doesn’t include binge eating)
THIS IS NOT ABOUT THE FOOD.
You need to find the source of your binging. I have found that it’s usually from an emotional trauma somewhere in your life. You eat to fill a empty space inside you (and I don’t mean your stomach). This type of eating disorder is not usually something you can overcome on your own. You need to talk to a professional. Once you figure out what’s ‘eating” you..I’ll bet you’ll regain control of your life in every aspect. Your doctor is a good place to start. He’s a trained professional who can put you in touch with those who can really offer some insight and solutions that will work for you…I wish you the very best of luck .
Playing video games is a good way. You forget food and… homework as well!
