Is a mother with an eating disorder more likely to miscarry?

A friend of mine who is pregnant and only eats fruits and vegetables and eggwhites. Drinks large amounts of caffeine, and hardly eats any fat at all. She has been battling an eating disorder for the past 10 years. She recently miscarried twice. My question is, do people with eating disorders generally have a harder time keeping a pregnancy?

Eating disorders affect pregnancy negatively in a number of ways. The following complications are associated with eating disorders during pregnancy:
Premature labor
Low birth weight
Stillbirth or fetal death
Likelihood of cesarean birth
Delayed fetal growth
Respiratory problems
Gestational diabetes
Complications during labor
Depression
Miscarriage
Preeclampsia
So yeah, having an eating disorder can definitely cause a lot of problems. Is she always TTC when she gets pregnant? Because she has probably been told by a doctor not to try for a baby until she has her problem under control because of all the complications it can cause.

yes she can. if she isn’t eating enough to support her body and be healthy then it won’t support her baby and the body will reject it.
