my binge eating has been with me since i learned that i had a “fast metabolism.” everyone would say “its gonna slow down… eat whatever u want now, etc…” the moment i realized it has slowed down, i ignored it and that habit of eating every hour stayed. so i stoped. i took out junk foods, fast, processed, instant, etc. lost about 30Lbs, then gained 10 back, from binge eating from time to time. mine isn’t as bad, but im scared of that day i just throw my hands in the air and say i don’t care.

…I’d just like to say to anyone extreme-dieting/fad-dieting/crash-dieting, to stop before the real problems start. The probable result of you, doing this, will probably end up with you giving in to your cravings and not being able to stop (binge-eating disorder), giving in to your cravings, not being and to stop, and therefore you feel so guilty you purge (bulimia), or you won’t be able to draw the line with you weight-loss , so just eat less and less (anorexia). PLEASE, LOSE WEIGHT HEALTHILY!

Thank you for posting Andrew, I’ll be sure to check out your website! I’m recovering from bulimia, so I have problems with binge-eating. Like you I once took dieting to an extreme (I was once eating a mere 500 kcals a day). So, as you can imagaine, after binging, throwing-up seemed like my only choice! Through seeing a dietician weekly, I’m getting better though (I haven’t put my fingers down my throat since October), so I hope that, like you, I have a healthy relationship with food, by 2010!…

I’m 16, 87 lbs. I have always eaten well…a lot. But lately, it’s sooo much food and very uncontrollable! I hate it because I can’t control it…I’m afraid it’ll be destructive to my good health…and it’s also NEVER fruit…always junk food! I’m freaked out because I have no control over it! I never feel full…I always want more!!!!!!!!!!!! I know exactly how you feel =[

MrMeditation, You are exactly right, I wanted to loose weight too quickly. That was partially why I started extreme diet.

The other part of it is because I just hated how I looked even though I was in okay shape. I had self image issues that I need to work on.

Did you switch to the extreme diets because you thought you weren’t losing weight fast enough? Was there a trigger that made you start extreme diets at that time?

Thanks for making this video man, I’m happy for you , happy that you overcame your addictions. It takes a brave person to open up with these issues and I for one am very proud of you.
