Personal Web-Sites About Bulimia Nervosa

Do you think personal sites about bulimia give you better information about this disease? I personally think yes, they do.

Although professional medical sites provide you with a lot of statistics, description of the symptoms and probable dangers of bulimia, personal sites show a human side to the problem.

They show people’s stories about how they contracted the disease, how they cope with it and treated it.

And the readers can relate themselves to these stories, relate to the feelings and thoughts and emotions which are revealed on someone’s personal site.

It is proven that we humans learn much better and faster by following other people examples and using someone as a role model then by following a cold script in a textbook.

I love to search personal sites. Once I found site which broke my heart. It was a story of an extraordinary mother whose daughter suffered anorexia-bulimia for more then ten years.

This lady (Karen) tells all her and her daughter story: from the time before the disease to the time when the disease was beaten.

The story evokes so many emotions in my soul because I can relate myself to it. I also had anorexia-bulimia when I was much younger.

And exactly like the daughter of this lady I went through all the conventional treatment which did not help me much. And I had to look outside conventional medicine for answers like this brave mother did.

Although we had so many similarities I still learned from her a lot as she used special techniques and treatments for her daughter some of them I did not know before.

It is interesting and fascinating how we can learn from each others experiences based on feelings and emotions much better than if we just went through unemotional cold text or words.

It is probably because we human beings are emotional creatures and we need to feel things first before we get them and can apply them to our self.

This is the main benefit of personal sites about bulimia nervosa and this is why people prefer reading them and not cold medical sites.

There is one thing you should be aware of about personal site. This refers to pro bulimia sites. Some people make personal sites and use them to promote dangerous conditions like bulimia.

These pro-eating disorder sites can also be very personal and reveal a lot of deep emotions and feelings which can affect the mind of readers.

Bulimia sufferers are very vulnerable people, they often feel isolated and withdrawn from others. But like all human’s they want to be belong to a group of people.

When a bulimic comes to a pro-bulimia site that shows the emotions she feels, describes her worries and anxieties in simple language, she may think that “Oho, these people look like me. I would like to join them.”

So, instead of trying to stop her ED she continues to be drawn deeper into the black hole that is bulimia. This is what these pro-bulimia sites do; they promote bulimia and teach girls how to remain being a bulimic.

So to sum up, personal bulimia nervosa sites can be extremely helpful to fight bulimia if you focus on a story or stories of people who overcame their problems, or are trying to overcome them.

But pro-bulimia sites can be dangerous and life-destroying. And the best recommendation for people who like to search personal bulimia sites is to beware of the danger these pro-bulimia sites and use wisely the other bulimia sites that take a place on the net.
