How could this happen with Anorexia?

?, the quiet girl. asked:

I’ve seen pictures of people with Anorexia, and they are scary skinny. Then, on Y!A, some people say it makes you gain weight? How could Anorexia make you gain a lot of weight, when people suffering from Anorexia are super small?

How can bulimia cause you to gain weight?

cruel_T asked:

i dont understand. ive heard that it can make you loose weight and then gain weight. How is that possible? Is it from bingeing and not purging it all out? I know this is a stupid question, but i am very curious.

i am a person who suffers from anorexia. I am 5’8″ and around 82-86 pounds.
but recently i have developed this habit of binge eating for 2 days in a row. like 2000-3000 calories in one day.
i am used to eating 400 calories a day so this is big stuff. i dont know why I am doing it but will it make me gain weight?
I am too afraid to weigh myself after this :(
PLEASE HELLLPP!

For a very long time I was doing really well. I ate only fruits & vegetables & exercised every day sometimes even up to 3 times a day, I was down to 120 lbs. Then I just suddenly went on an eating binge. I couldn’t control my eating. Yesterday I ate about 8 sandwiches along with a bunch of other junk, and I’m constipated from all the bread and my stomach is very bloated. Now when I step on the scale I’m back up to 130! How on earth could I gain back all the weight I’d worked so hard to lose in a single week. It’s so depressing! Also I started my period. Was this to cause for the binge? I just don’t get it. I’m over the binge now, but I’m just so depressed that all my weight is back! Is it even possible to gain 10 lbs in a week or Is this just maybe water weight (I REALLY hope so)?

eating disorder
Aubrey M asked:

I am trying to recover from an eating disorder, but I really don’t want to gain any weight. Will it work if I start with 600 calories a day for two weeks, then 800 for two weeks, then 1000, then 1200, then 1500? Is that too unhealthy? Are there any other methods for maintaining during recovery?
